Other Tools/Links

The Top Menu Contains a number of different options and links.

Radio Log

The Radio Log is accessible from the Summary Dashboard

or the Radio Log shortcut

Map

The Map is accessible from the Other Tools/Links Menu

The Map displays a graphical image showing the Status of beaches, the Zoom In/Out Function can be used to locate a specific Beach.

Generate Message

The Generate Message icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

Within the Generate Message screen there is a text box to add your:

  1. Message

  2. SurfGuard Mailing Group

  3. Members of the group (These will be displayed on the right-hand side)

  4. Send to Group to distribute the Email or SMS to the selected group

Once selecting Send to Group a Success notification will be displayed

A copy of the message will be recorded in the Radio Log available in the Summary screen

Incident Notifications

The Incident Notifications icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

Incident Notifications will be displayed when a Mailing Group recipient responds to a callout request via the SMS link.

Example SMS Notification:

If the recipient accepts the callout and selects ‘Yes’ to Respond to the Incident Notification will be displayed under the Incident Notification icon in Surfcom

 

Hazard Notification

The Hazard Notifications icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

Online Help

The Online Help icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

This icon opens a link to the SLSA IT Helpdesk where you can log a ticket for any issues and also access knowledgebase items based on the context entered into the Summary field

Reports Menu

The Reports Menu icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

There are several reports available from the Reports Menu:

  • Daily Statistics

  • Statistics Summary

  • Daily Communication Log

  • Rescue Summary

  • Service Log

  • Incident Report

  • Entity Summary

  • GPS Tracking Report

  • Radio Log Beaches Status

  • Service Profiles

  • Hazard Summary

  • View All Services

  • Unit Report

System Menu

The System Menu icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

There are several options available from the System Menu, the availability of these options will depend on your access level

  • Unit Availability

  • Unit Maintenance

  • Unit Orphaned

  • Current Users

  • User Admin

  • State Instructions Admin

  • State Email Templates

  • Incident Types

  • Timezone and Geography

  • Callsigns

  • Public Holidays

  • Admin Settings

Profile Menu

The Profile Menu icon is accessible from the Top Menu Bar

From here you can sign out or edit your profile, change password and update contact details

Admin Functions

There are a number of Admin options in Surfcom, some of these functional allow configuration of State Specific Functions and preferences

7.1 Record Message – State Incident Record

Record Message – State Incident Record

This function allows States to set the default for Service when using the ‘Record’ function within an incident:

 

There are 2 options available

  • Primary Service

  • Last Service

This setting will determine if a State sees the Primary Service in the Record message screen or the Last Service

In this example the Primary Service is being prefilled when selecting the Record option from within an Incident

User Admin

This function allows Users with Administrator or Super Admin access to Manage Users

In the User Admin screen the following options are available:

  • View User Status – All, Active or Inactive

  • Add a User

  • View/Edit User Details

  • View/Set Permissions

 

In the User Maintenance screen Administrators & Super Admins can:

  • Set a temporary password

  • Set a Users Status

  • Set Expiry Date

  • Set Users Details

*Set Organisation Access & Default Organisation

Deactivate a User:

  • To deactivate a user update their Status to Inactive and set the Expiry to the current date or a date in the past
