Titles

The Titles area within the Maintenance area allows authorised users to manage the list of titles used throughout SurfGuard.

View Titles

To view the list of titles:

  1. Open the menu

  1. Next, you have two options:

  • Scroll to the Maintenance section to find the Titles section

  • Search for “Titles” in the search bar at the top right hand side of the page

  1. Select the Titles option

  2. View the Titles page which shows a list including:

    • Title

    • Gender

  1. Enter the title into the Search bar and select “Search”

  1. The list will update with the search results

Add/Edit Titles

You can add or edit the list of titles only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

Option A: Add Title

  1. Select the “Add Title” button

  2. The Add New Title drawer opens

  3. Add details

  4. Select Save to save your changes

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears:

Option B: Edit Title

  1. Select one of the titles in the list

  2. The Edit Language drawer opens

  3. Update the details

  4. Select Update to save your changes

Delete Titles

You can delete titles only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

  1. Tick at least one of the languages in the list

  1. Select the three vertical dots (kebab) in the top right of the screen

  2. Select “Delete selected records”

  1. Select “Delete”

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears

I can’t see the Titles option in the Menu

The Titles section is only visible under the Maintenance menu item if:

  • You have Can View permission, and

  • You are on the National level, and

  • You are viewing the Memberships application

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

An error message shows when I try to delete a Title

An error message will display when attempting to delete one or more titles that are attached to existing member records

  • This is working as expected.
