Award Allocation Types

The Award Allocation Types area within the Maintenance area allows authorised users to manage the list of award allocation types used throughout SurfGuard.

View Award Allocation Types

To view the list of award types:

  1. Open the menu

  1. Next, you have two options:

  • Scroll to the Maintenance section

  • Search for “Award Allocation Types” in the search bar at the top right hand side of the page

  1. Select the Maintain Award Allocation Types option

  2. View the Award Allocation Types page which shows a table that includes the following information:

    • Award Allocation Type

    • System Type - indicates whether the type is system‑defined

    • For Allocation - indicates whether the type can be used for award allocation

    • For Assessment - indicates whether the type can be used for assessments

  1. Enter the award allocation type into the Search bar and select “Search”

Add/Edit Award Allocation Types

You can add or edit the list of award allocation types only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

Option A: Add Award Allocation Type

  1. Select the “Add Award Allocation Type” button

  2. The Add New Award Allocation Type drawer opens

  3. Add details

  4. Select Save to save your changes

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears

Option B: Edit Award Allocation Type

  1. Select one of the Award Allocation Types in the list

  2. The Edit Award Allocation Type drawer opens

  3. Update the details

  4. Select Update to save your changes

I can’t see the Award Allocation Types option in the Menu

The Maintain Award Allocation Types section is only visible under the Maintenance menu item if:

  • You have Maintain Award Allocation Types = Can View permission, and

  • You are on the National level, and

  • You are viewing the Memberships application

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t create an Award Allocation Type

You can only create an Award Allocation Type if you have Maintain Award Allocation Types = Can Create permission.

I can’t edit an Award Allocation Type

You can only create an Award Allocation Type if you have Maintain Award Allocation Types = Can Update permission.

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t delete an Award Type

The functionality to delete an Award Allocation Type has been removed as it can break too many functions.

  • Contact the Helpdesk to request that the Award Type you created be deleted from the database.

An Award Allocation Type isn’t appearing in other screens as expected

The type is not marked:

  • “For Allocation”, or

  • “For Assessment”

  • Edit the Award Allocation Type and confirm the boxes are ticked. Refresh the relevant screen after making changes.
