Disabilities

The Disabilities page allows authorised users to manage the list of disability values used across SurfGuard. These values are referenced when recording and maintaining member information.

View Disabilities

To view the list of disabilities:

  1. Open the menu

  1. Next, you have two options:

  • Scroll to the Maintenance section

  • Search for “Disabilities” in the search bar at the top right hand side of the page

  1. Select the Disabilities option

  2. View the Disabilities page which shows a table that includes the following information:

    • Disability - name of the disability

    • Display Value - numerical value controlling the order in which disabilities appear in dropdown lists

  1. Enter the disability name into the Search bar and select “Search”

  1. The list will update with the search results

Add/Edit Disabilities

You can add or edit the list of disabilities only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

Option A: Add Disability

  1. Select the “Add Disability” button

  2. The Add Disability drawer opens

  3. Add details

  4. Select Save to save your changes

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears

Option B: Edit Disability

  1. Select one of the Disabilities in the list

  2. The Edit Disability drawer opens

  3. Update the details

  4. Select Update to save your changes

Delete Disability

You can delete a disability only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

  1. Tick at least one of the disabilities in the list

  1. Select the kebab (three vertical dots) in the top right of the screen

  2. Select “Delete selected records”

  1. Select “Delete”

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears:

I can’t see the Disabilities option in the Menu

The Disabilities section is only visible under the Maintenance menu item if:

  • You have Disabilities = Can View permission, and

  • You are at the National level, and

  • You are viewing the Memberships application

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t create a new Disability

You can only create a Disability if you have Disabilities = Can Create permission.

I can’t edit a Disability

You can only edit a Disability if you have Disabilities = Can Update permission.

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t delete a Disability

You can only delete a Disability if you have Disabilities = Can Delete permission.
