English Proficiencies

The English Proficiencies page allows authorised users to maintain the list of English proficiency values used across SurfGuard when recording member details.

View English Proficiencies

To view the list of English Proficiencies:

  1. Open the menu

  1. Next, you have two options:

  • Scroll to the Maintenance section to find the English Proficiencies section

  • Search for “English Proficiencies” in the search bar at the top right hand side of the page

  1. Select the English Proficiencies option

  2. View the English Proficiencies page which shows a list including:

    • English Proficiency name

    • Display Order

  1. Enter the English Proficiency name into the Search bar and select “Search”

  1. The list will update with the search results

Add/Edit English Proficiencies

You can add or edit the list of English Proficiencies only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

Option A: Add English Proficiency

  1. Select the “Add English Proficiency” button

  2. The Add English Proficiency drawer opens

  3. Add details

  4. Select Save to save your changes

  1. If successful, a confirmation message appears

Option B: Edit English Proficiency

  1. Select one of the English Proficiencies in the list

  2. The Edit English Proficiency drawer opens

  3. Update the details

  4. Select Update to save your changes

Delete English Proficiencies

You can delete English proficiencies only if you have the relevant permission to do so.

  1. Tick at least one of the proficiencies in the list

  1. Select the three vertical dots (kebab) in the top right of the screen

  2. Select “Delete selected records”

I can’t see the English Proficiencies option in the Menu

The English Proficiencies section is only visible under the Maintenance menu item if:

  • You have English Proficiencies = Can View permission, and

  • You are on the National level, and

  • You are viewing the Memberships application

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t create an English Proficiency

You can only create an English Proficiency if you have the English Proficiencies = Can Create permission.

I can’t edit an English Proficiency

You can only edit an English Proficiency if you have the English Proficiencies = Can Update permission.

  • SurfGuard user accounts are managed by each state office. Contact your state centre using the appropriate form here to have them update your permissions if necessary.

I can’t delete an English Proficiency

You can only delete an English Proficiency if you have the English Proficiencies = Can Delete permission.
